My research looks at the environmental impacts of urban planning and policy and the politics of sustainability in metropolitan regions. In recent years, I have focused particularly on how these dynamics function in suburban settings in North America. I also have a long-standing interest in the historical development of planning in suburbia.
I am currently focused on urban policy responses to the challenges of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
